Treetops
Treetops are the earliest known ancestors of a person. These could include any of the following...
- An ancestor with no parents who either has no spouse or has a spouse with parents
- An ancestor with no parents who appears on a family card by himself.
- Ancestors who are husband and wife10n a family card where neither the husband or wife have parents.
Displaying Treetops
To make a Treetops list, choose or click the button on the toolbar.
This opens the Treetops window, shown below. You'll notice that two lists are created: one for the husband and one for the wife. To switch between them, click the tab buttons containing each person's name.
To open the family card for a person or family in the list, double-click a name in the list, or select an entry and click the button.
The Treetops Shortcut
Another way to see the treetops for a person is to Control-click a name on the family card.
