Maintenance Updates

Reunion 8.06 Free Maintenance Update for OS X users (Posted 2/7/05)

Note: Version 8.05 is still the current version for Classic users.

What is a maintenance update?

A "maintenance update" is a new, minor revision of Reunion that fixes bugs and adds minor enhancements. Maintenance updates don't contain new features (in contrast to major "upgrades") and don't affect your family files. Your copy of Reunion on your Macintosh gets "updated" by downloading an updater from this web page and running the updater application.

Before Downloading an updater...

Please make sure you don't already have the latest version of Reunion. If you already installed the latest version from a CD, there's no need to download this updater. To check your current version, single-click the Reunion 8 application file and choose File -> Get Info.

Download the appropriate updater for your macOS...

for macOS X

If you currently have Reunion 8.05, Download the 8.06 Updater
(.dmg - 536 KB)

If you have Reunion 8.04 or earlier, Download the 8.05 Updater
(.dmg - 1.4 MB)

for OS 8.5 to 9.2

If you have Reunion 8.04 or earlier, Download the 8.05 Updater
(Stuffit - 1.1 MB)

Note:  If you experience problems downloading an update, try pressing the Control key on your keyboard and click the link again. Choose the Download Linked File option (or something similar) from the menu.

After downloading...

  1. Be sure the Reunion 8 application file is named "Reunion 8" If you renamed Reunion 8, the updater won't work!
  2. If you're using macOS X, make sure you are logged in as a user with "admin" privileges before running the updater. If you aren't, the updater won't be able to install the update.
  3. Double-click the updater application and follow the instructions on-screen.

If you have problems downloading (such as a partial download or if you get an error about a corrupted file), you should delete the incomplete download and try again. If you have another web browser, or another version of your web browser, you could try that. Some people report success with IE 5.1 and failure with IE 4.5. Sometimes, just quitting and restarting the browser will help.
