Version 5 Maintenance Update Details

Reunion 5.06

(Note: 5.06 contains the changes from all previous updates.

Version 5.06 fixes three problems accidentally introduced in the 5.05 maintenance update...

  • On a 68K Mac, Reunion will no longer crash or freeze if you attempt to display a picture.
  • Printing documents directly from Reunion (such as person sheets, family group sheets, cascading pedigree charts, pedigree overviews, and family cards) now works properly with all printers.
  • The Find Person feature is, once again, very fast. (A mistake in 5.05 made it very slow.)

Reunion 5.05

  • Options -> Reports, Index: Added a new checkbox called "Omit Index." This applies to non-HTML Family History, Register and Ahnentafel reports.
  • Fixed a memory leak when running Reunion in 1-bit mode (black & white).
  • Create -> Cascading Pedigree: Increase the buffer size by a factor of 8 for huge charts.
  • Create -> Tiny Tafel:
    • Source button for each person was disabled if the ID was more than 32768.
    • Surnames and Place Names will be truncated to 60 chars, long place names could cause crash (even if places are NOT included).
  • Options -> Indexing: Enlarged the text field to be able to show 2 digit numbers.
  • Index and Result Lists:
    • When sorting by Soundex, the wrong Soundex number would show on the left for last names containing prefixes to be filtered. The sort order was correct, but looked odd since the soundex was wrong in these cases.
    • Changing the displayed fields could cause the scroll bar to move to the wrong position.
  • List -> Mailing Addresses: Would consider addresses that had been deleted as present if the name line was not deleted also.
  • Create -> Web Family Cards: Would not report Marriage unless date and place were present.
  • Paste would not work if certain extensions were running. (SC also.)
  • Find -> Person:
    • Added animation to the busy cursor.
    • Added support for CMD - '.' and Escape.
  • RTF Report Fonts: Some fonts would not properly appear in RTF files -- most evident in MS Word.
  • Speed Names:
    • Using the arrow keys in the Place Names section would cause last names to appear.
    • Removed elipsis from the "Clear" button. (Note: This affects the Small Screen Resource which has been updated.)
  • Upgrade Reunion 4 Family File: Double chevrons will be converted to < and >.
  • Person/Family Group Sheets:
    • Added option in the "Sort" setting called "Move all Notes Fields to the End." This creates documents closer in style to those produced by Reunion 4.
    • If a couple's status was specified as Unmarried in the Edit -> Family, Marriage tab, the "Unmarried" entry would not appear in the report.
  • Person/Family Group Sheets (RTF and TEXT):
    • Reformatted to have fewer horizontal lines, making these documents more readable.
    • Added "Last Mod." and "Created" dates.
  • Person/Family Group Sheets, Print/Preview:
    • would freeze on multiple pages (very rare).
    • "Last Mod. Date" would get appended to the title if the title was at least 50 characters in length.
    • If a picture is the first item on a page (other than the first page), data could overlap at the top of the page.
  • Person Sheet, Questionnaire:
    • If there was no marriage date or place, status would show as "Unmarried."
    • If places were on separate line, the word "Status" would be replaced with a '?'.
    • With ages included, ages would show for empty events.
  • Family Group Sheet:
    • Spouses of children would not get "Append to Name" data appended.
    • Child statuses were not being included.
  • Family History, Ahnentafel, and Register Reports: When Append to Name setting included Soundex, and the last name had a prefix to exclude, the appended data would be incorrect for both descendant and spouse names.
  • Register Report: When Append to Name setting included Soundex, Soundex wasn't being appended to the spouse's name.
  • Blank Forms, Person/Family Group Sheet, Questionnaire: If pictures were included, extra space (the empty blocks for additional children or spouses) would use the last picture included for an existing person.
  • Register and Ahnentafel:
    • Name and General Source citations for children that were not appearing later in the report were excluded.
    • If a fact ended with a period, there would be a double period at the end of the reported fact.
  • Graphic Charts:
    • When these options were enabled...
      • Show empty fields
        Include divorce/annulled
        Put places on separate line

... an invalid line of just a period would appear in boxes.

    • Unchecking the Exclude Empty Fields button did not apply to facts.
  • Web Family Cards: When including person sheets, the links at the bottom of the sources page were wrong.
  • HTML Reports:
    • The auto-link creator for embedded URLs would sometimes break the full URL and the link would not work. The longer the URL the greater the chance of this happening. Now a URL can be up to 150 characters long.
    • The auto-link creator will ignore a '>' or comma character following a URL.
  • All Reports: Sensitive data will be removed from event memos.
  • Descendant Reports, Append to Name setting: Data did not show for more than the 1st spouse of a person.
  • Multimedia Window: Cut, Copy and Paste did not work.
  • Gedcom Export:
    • A family record is no longer created for single people with no children.
    • Submitter will be included, if one has been entered.
  • Gedcom Import:
    • Empty person records with a first name of "NotInGedcom [I999]" will be created for missing people in Gedcom files. Where "[I999]" is a Gedcom REF ID.
    • A new field will only be created for tags that are to be imported.
    • Fixed occasional odd behavior when a new flag is created from the Automatic Flag pop-up menu.
  • Print/Preview:
    • Some words in very long notes fields would break to a new line in the middle of a word.
    • Punctuation will not wrap by itself in structured sources.
  • Sources in Reports: Punctuation will appear inside the quotes.
  • Smart Quotes: Will respond properly when following '(' , '[' or '{'.
  • Edit Person/Family, Name, Fact, Event, and Marriage tabs: When the first source is added, the "Remove Link..." button was disabled
  • Edit Person, Family tab and Notes Tab: Fixed a case where the scroll bar was accidentally disabled after "Hide Citations" was checked.
  • Edit Person, Family tab: Fixed a scroll bar problem when a fourth source was added to a list of three.
  • Edit Person, Family Notes tab: Undo would misbehave when moving between notes fields.
  • Create -> Ahnentafel: Duplicates were being removed regardless of the "Remove Duplicates" button setting.
  • Index: After performing a Find Anything search, with the People tab displayed, the Sort pop-up menu in the Index would change to "Last Name, First Name."
  • Edit -> Family, Children tab:
    • New children added in this window would not have their default event fields in the correct order (as specified in the Options -> Default -> Person Fields window).
    • Changes made in this window will be properly analyzed by the date feasibility checking.
  • UPPERCASE: The "McName" example will work for all words in the last name, not just the first word.
  • Multiple Monitors: Dialog boxes will open in the center of whichever monitor the application is using. (SC also.)
  • Family Card Fonts: Bold and condense/bold now work; condense/bold used to be just bold.
  • Dates: any year that is followed be a number will be considered a custom date.
    • Ex: "1908/11"
  • List -> Sources: We fixed a bug when using the "Add Source" and "Duplicate" buttons in the Source List window which could cause a crash, although not an immediate crash.
  • List Reports (Calendar, Places, Relationships): Added an empty line before bold subtitles and appended a " -" to each subtitle. This formatting is closer to the style used in Reunion 4.
  • List Reports (All): Added an empty line after the first line (the first line defines the fields).
  • PICT files: PICT files that contained vector graphics (i.e., that were not 100% bitmaps) would have distorted backgrounds.
  • Editable Text fields: Fixed some misc. display problems and anomolies. (SC also.)
  • Page Setup: Would crash for the ImageWriter and some other older print drivers. This problem was introduced in 5.04. (SC also.)
  • Printing: Fixed a spooling bug that would cause some printers to not print or only print a small part of a document. (SC also.)
  • Create -> Descendant Report (RTF): Facts that are defined with a special font will be reported in that font.

SuperChart 5.05

  • Chart boxes would have missing connecting lines if person IDs were more than 32768.
  • Branch drag mode: dragging a branch that included the last box in a chart could crash or cause improper overlap message.
  • Added low memory warning message if undo buffer runs out of room while dragging boxes.
  • Increased max picture size from 10"x10" to 40"x40"
  • When copying timeline charts to the Clipboard, the right-most text could get clipped off.
  • When choosing File -> Page Setup or Edit -> Center, lines coming from captions would become detached.
  • Tree -> Lines window: The word "Connect" in the tab button was being clipped.
  • When adding a new box to a Pedigree Chart using the shift-double click shortcut, an extra/invalid line was being created.
  • Global Drag mode: dragging first box of a chart (and thus moving all objects in the chart) did not move caption lines.
  • Undo didn't work when moving the entire chart. This included: Center menu command, Top-Left men command, and Global mode dragging of the source box.

  • Small screens are now supported via a separate resource file available on this web page.
  • Speed Names no longer alters the case of user entries while typing.
  • General sources no longer appear on the Facts or Events tabs in the Edit Person window. • Will open with the last person chosen, selected, and centered. Same when changing the sort.
    • AE digraph will sort as "AE".
    • Performance improvements for slower Macs when typing multiple letters. Increased interval between keystrokes from 1.0 to 1.5 sec.

    • Will now find accented characters. If you search for "ñancy," it will find "ñancy" and "nancy." If you search for "nancy," it will also find "ñancy" and "nancy."
    • Can no longer search for AE digraph. Searching for "ae" will find the ae digraph. Using Find Anything, you CAN search for the ae digraph.
  • Report Indexes (and HTML surnames):
    • AE digraph converted to "AE"
    • Will not force ALL CAPS for surnames. Note: if you have some instances of a surname in mixed case and some in uppercase, the first instance will be used in the index subtitles.
  • List -> Places: Sorting of places is no longer case sensitive (if you have one entry PA and another Pa, only one will be included and both instances will be listed under a single subtitle) and the sorting will ignore diacriticals. AE digraph will sort after A and before B. Some extended characters will sort at end of place list.

  • List -> Ages:
    • Male life expectancy was being applied to females.

Note: If you change the extension for .gif files, you must also change the extenstion of the gif files in the Graphics/Icons folder.
    • Changed <FONT SIZE=+3> to <FONT SIZE="+3">
  • HTML TOC page: Properly includes a "Sources" line/link in the contents when sources are included in the web output.

    • "No Children" text will only show if "No Children" is selected in the Add Child pop-up menu.
    • Added a space before the marriage event and the marriage status event.
    • Enhanced logic to choose home card:
      1. Use current card if included in the web project.

  • Multi-line Edit fields:
    • Fixed refresh problems related to scrolling, when data entry font size was set to 10 pt. This might have appeared as blurred text or stripes of your highlight color.
    • When deleting text, scroll bar will no longer disable before it should. (SC also.)

  • Memos can now be included in register and ahnentafel reports. There is a new button in the Layout window for each report under the Miscellaneous setting.
  • MS Word 6 for Windows: Added deflang1033 (EnglishUS) code in RTF report header so MS Word won't think the report shouldn't be spell checked. Word users were receiving a "no proofing" msg.

    • 'STR#' 137,17,18
    • 'DITL' 201

SuperChart 5.04

  • Will retain the "Fractional Widths" setting when opening version 4 chart files.
  • Removed extra space (inside object) on the right side of captions and boxes.
  • Box size (width) would be larger than needed if "Fractional Widths" was enabled.
  • Caption Centering will not move text to the left of the box.
  • Single-page pedigree charts work much better now, but you can still cause charts to exceed 1 page by including multiple items appended to names.
  • Descending Text: Font metrics will be considered when placing text and sizing boxes. This should address cases where descending text of larger fonts dipped below the border.
  • Timelines: Raised highest year limit from 2100 to 2200 AD. Birth or Death dates prior to 100 AD will not be included.
  • Preview of Captions and Boxes: If the chart was zoomed out, the preview would be blank.
  • Now remembers the Tree -> Border choice for the next new chart.
  • When centering a timeline the perspective lines could become misplaced.
  • Fixed Type 4 error in Timeline charts when the legend "Year Lines" or "Bold Years" was set to "None"
  • Added support for an external resource file (for localization and customization).

Reunion 5.03

  • File corruption after a crash: Fixed some file management issues which would surface as file corruption following a crash. Corruption may have resulted if you experienced a crash during or soon after: calculating relationships, using the trash to move people around, using Replace, using Delete/Move Fields. Examples of corruption problems include: people appearing in the wrong places, people missing in the index, and inability to navigate to a person's record.
  • Pop-up menus: Add Source, Mark and Presets pop-up menus on some systems would not appear in the correct location, or not appear at all.
  • Copy/Paste: You can now copy/paste source citations and colored/styled text from one note field to another.
  • Width of citation detail field (in source citation lists) is now remembered.
  • Editable text fields: Fixed a problem that would cause the cursor to go outside the editable text field -- most often reported when typing notes. (SC also.)
  • Ditto Feature: Will only work for last names and places, as documented. No longer inserts random characters when used in other fields.
  • Flags: Fixed "Type 2" error that could occurr when adding, canceling, checking a flag in a particular sequence.
  • Mailing Address: Address for a family could show up with a death place as part of the default name.
  • When adding an existing child using the Children tab of the Edit Family window, parents properly appear above the child on the child's family card.
  • Moving Children: When linking a child to a second set of parents (via Existing Male Child or Existing Mother/Father), if you clicked "Move" in the confirming message window, the child would be removed from the family card but would still show as having multiple parents.
  • Edit Source window
    • Fixed some crashing/pref trashing issues with sources having over 500 character when viewed in the Preview tab.
    • Command key shortcuts for text editing are now enabled in the Free-Form Text field of the Edit Source window.
  • Pedigree/Ahnentafel/Relative/Relationships: Preferred parents will be used, rather than the first parents.
  • HTML
    • This comment, added to HTML file output in 5.02, was incorrect: <!--Rv5.02>. Changed it to: <!-- Rv5.02 -->. This caused some problems opening HTML files in PageMill and some other applications.
    • A missing background image or missing icon image (from the Graphics folder) would cause a system freeze when creating web output.
    • Added New Line to the end of each document.
    • User-defined color is now defined in document header, rather than in body and table cells.
    • Person/Family Group Sheets: Last Mod/Created dates were positioned incorrectly.
    • Web Family Cards/Person Sheets: Invalid links to a spouse might appear if relationships were appended to names and the relationship description was greater than 10 characters.
  • Creating Reports
    • The path specified in Options -> Reports, Report Folder is now validated when starting Reunion. This change should help fix some problems with opening reports in word processors. Also added 2 messages to give better feedback explaining why a report can't be created. "Invalid file path [filepath]..." and "Unable to create file [filename]..."
    • Creating a report that has a citation detail with more than 100 characters could cause a crash.
    • Statistics report: The columns are now labeled.
    • Feasibility report: Now using more elaborate problem descriptions.
    • Family history report: If there was an event place and no date, no data for the event was reported.
    • Register report, descendant report, and family history report: If "Bold Child Buttons Only" was checked, only the source family was included.
    • Register report: Added new (empty) line after people without spouses or children.
    • Descendant report: Age was being duplicated and replacing the Death Place line.
    • Tiny Tafel report: Double header was being inserted for RTF and HTML, causing Word 6 to not open.
  • Preferences file: Added additional sanity checking at startup. If the preferences file is invalid, the word processor/browser selection window will appear and the preferencs are reset.
  • Index sorting: Sorting in the index will not consider diacritical marks (thus making Ñ appear with N, and À appear with A, etc.), and will use the international system setting for sorting (this is changed in the Text control panel). Users who update to 5.03 for this reason must choose Options -> Indexing and click Rebuild Index.
  • UPPERCASE/Initial Caps: Will use international system settings to change case.
  • UPPERCASE: Will only apply the "Mc" exception to beginnings of words -- no longer affects names like "SIMcHOVITZ".
  • Find
    • Find Person
      • Similar to the Index sorting item above -- Find Person will not consider diacritical marks.
      • If you added an unrelated person to the file and searched for that person, Reunion would hang up.
      • Wouldn't find the most recently added new person (related or unrelated) until the next person was added.
    • Find Anything: braces and brackets are no longer considered the same. Smart and dumb quotes are considered the same, ala the find functions in word processors.
    • Find Sources: Now allows dumb quotes in text field. Search considers dumb and smart quotes the same, ala the find functions in word processors.
    • Find Anything window, List windows: Added "Family ID" which will display the ID number of a person's family showing the preferred spouse.
  • Place Lists (HUGE): Blank lines, strange characters (@) and other anomalies in the bold place names appeared in very large place lists. (After updating to 5.03, affected lists must be re-created.)
  • Fixed problem where changing the Status or Marriage pop-up menus would change the contents of the Marriage/Status Place field.
  • On slower Macs with BIG family files, users couldn't type multiple letters to select names in the Index. For example, when typing two letters, the second letter jumped to start another word.
  • Source citations in Name tab: If more than 3 sources were cited, the source scroll bar would be disabled the next time the name tab is viewed. Strange results could also occur if you attempt to tab through the source citations.
  • Pedigree chart: Might crash if there were duplicate branches; more likely if "Remove Duplicates" was NOT checked.
  • Pedigree chart: If "Remove Duplicates" is NOT checked, the duplicates asterisk will no longer appear in the chart.
  • Index: The last person selected in the Index will be remembered, male or female, and will be remembered from one session to another.
  • Images: We added a parameter to a string resource that determines HTML/Printer image width (and thus height). This enables the user to change the setting with ResEdit. The tradeoff is that the setting will impact the size (width and height) of all pictures in HTML reports. In 5.03, this can be changed by altering...
    • 'STR#' ID 130, index 27
    • First number is for Person and Family Groups Sheets, destination Printer
Second number is the JPEG picture file width in Web output.
    • The unit of measurement is 1/72 inch, so use 108 for 1.5 inches, 144 for 2 inches, etc.
    • Note that when the destination is Printer or Print Preview, place names do not wrap. If you specify a very big image size, the places could run over the images in printouts directly from Reunion.
  • Gedcom
    • Export:
      • Could fail to export sources if there were more sources than user notes. We doubt anyone will ever encounter this problem.
    • Import/Export:
      • Windows and DOS conversion of extended characters are now performed correctly.
      • Added option to include/exclude Misc. Note field.
    • Import
      • Will not drop the detail text in citation detail records exported ala Roots III.
      • Source record 1 TYPE will be imported.
      • 1 TITL fields in source records are now imported properly.
      • Fields with the same name and type but different Gedcom tags will be imported into the correct field and not duplicated.
      • Transfer files: definitions RUF1, RUN1, etc. will be interpreted.
      • During the analysis of a Gedcom file, level 1 fields containing cross-referenced values will default to a note field in Reunion.
      • PAF File, double commas will be removed and spaces added as in Reunion 4.
      • TEMP tag (LDS temple) will be treated like a PLAC for events: it will replace the PLAC if there is one, as was handled in Reunion 4.
        • 1 ENDL
          2 DATE 10 DEC 1924
          2 TEMP SL
<----------- this data will go into the event place field.
  • Upgrade Reunion 4
    • If an event had no data, and the citation was in the date, the citation would be lost.
    • If there was no marriage data, but a citation in date or place field, the citaion would be lost.
  • Import Reunion 5 File: Will now import and convert sources cited in Marriage fields.
  • Save Compact Copy: could crash while saving a compact copy if there was text entered in the Log.
  • Save Clone: Find Anything presets wouldn't work in a clone/copy of a family file.
  • Adding/Removing source citations from notes could cause the text field to have odd behavior, extra characters (such as <<these>>), etc.
  • Ages window
    • Marriage length for a female with a death date could be wrong.
    • If the beginning or ending event in an age calculation lacks a complete date (year only, for example) then the age calculation will appear only as a number of years.
  • Options -> Fonts
    • Data entry font choice applies to all lists. This change will help your diacritical marks in the Index to match those in the Edit Person window.
    • The data entry font now displays correctly after tabbing out of fields.
  • Parents pop-up menu: Death place of a parent could become part of the names listed in the Parent pop-up menu. Also changed the format from "John & Jane SMITH" to "John SMITH & Jane DOE".
  • 32-bit problem: If 32-bit addressing was turned off in the Memory control panel, radio and check-box buttons would look like rounded rectangular buttons and not work. (SC also.) This only affects 68K Macs. Click here for more details.
  • Tab Buttons: Changed the behavior to be more friendly. You can no longer click and drag off of these buttons, thereby confusing the dialog window. (SC also.)
  • Command-C will no longer "click" the Close buttons in windows. (SC also.)
  • "Adopted" was misspelled for new family files.
  • Dialog boxes with static text fields that should be empty, might have had weird characters present. A cosmetic problem only. (SC also.)

SuperChart 5.03

  • Pedigree charts with siblings: Huge gaps and overlapping boxes -- either, both, or neither could occur.
  • Connecting lines: Hairlines were printing as 1 point lines.

Reunion 5.02

  • Log: Fixed a problem whereby a Log report couldn't be created.
  • Log: The font specified in the Options -> Fonts [Data Entry] window was not applied to the Log window.
  • Log: Fixed a problem where log text would sometimes get duplicated in the Return Address field.
  • Picture Description window (the window that appears when a picture window is double clicked): The Save button now works properly.
  • Register Report Layout: By default, the "Number People without Children" button is now checked.
  • Index: If Parents appear in the first pop-up menu and Spouse appears in the second pop-up menu, the Spouse column now displays the correct data.
  • Edit Person window: When Initial Caps/Uppercase is checked, the example name will be updated properly to reflect the final result.
  • Print Preview window, keyboard shortcuts added for scrolling: 4 Arrow keys, Page Up, Page Down, Home, and End.
  • Pictures in HTML files could have 1 or 2 pixels of "noise" on either the top or the left.
  • HTML Files: Added version information (what you see in red below) to the header of every file. Our support people can thereby determine the version of Reunion used to create a Web page.

  • Blank forms and questionnaires: Note fields will be properly included.
  • Blank forms and questionnaires: If there is no marriage status, "Status" is listed, not "Divorce".
  • Sources in lists: A source with styled text in the free-form section may have duplicated text at the end of the source. This only affects the source's appearance in lists. The source must be opened and saved with version 5.02 to fix the trailing duplicates.
  • Initial Caps: Did not work or remember its setting in the Marriage or Children tabs of the Edit Family window.
  • Spelling error: Default fields "Marriage Licence" now "Marriage License."
  • Person sheet and family group sheet, destination Printer or Preview: Incorrect text wrapping and character lost on word wrap for notes and sources. This could happen for structured sources, and also in styled text in notes and sources. We think it could possibly happen randomly for normal notes but this was never reported or duplicated.
  • 1-bit monitors (SE30, Classic II, some PowerBooks): Cosmetic cleanup. Progress window now looks correct. B&W cosmetics improved on the family card and Toolbar. Data entry in scrolling lists won't have vanishing lines. Disabled the pop-up 8-bit color palette.
  • Editable lists: Fixed some cosmetic hilighting and selecting problems that would appear on 1-bit, B&W Macs, and also on color Macs with Color Control Panel highlight color set to Black.
  • Edit Person/Family windows: Disable "Remove Link" button if no citations are selected.
  • Edit Person/Family windows: Disabled Sort button (Events) if there are less than 2 events in the list.
  • Edit Family window, Children tab: Disabled Sort button (Children) if there are less than 2 children in the list.
  • Citation Detail field: When citing a source in a note field, and adding large amount of text to the citation detail field, a crash could occur (or follow).
  • Citation Detail field: Changes to the citation detail field would sometimes be lost if you double-clicked a source citation in the Edit Person window and opened the source record.

SuperChart 5.02

  • Edit Perspective: Entering a date that was out of range (to get the "out of range" error message) and then re-entering a valid date and clicking OK would corrupt the perspective event. This would cause the line width and event size/location to be so far "off" that the page count and chart size would be huge. Chart file can be fixed by either deleting the perspective event or all of the perspective events.
  • Edit Perspective: If you enter an invalid date and click the Delete button, you should not get the "out of range" error message.
  • "Missing Font" message: Would appear if a Timeline chart with no perspectives was created, saved and then opened.
  • Edit Bar: Bold check-box setting is remembered and the legend will resize properly for bold text.
  • Edit Bar: Perspectives will move if the legend is resized due to change in bar text size.
  • 1-bit monitors (SE30, Classic II, some Powerbooks): Cosmetic cleanup for these Macs by forcing...
    - shadow color to a 50% dither
    - fill color to white
    - legend lines to a dithered gray
    - everything else to black.

Reunion 5.01

  • Fixed a problem with deleting return characters in text fields, such as notes, logs, and sources. This problem could cause system errors and was particularly acute when using Ram Doubler.
  • File -> Import Text now handles unknown sex.
  • File -> Import -> Reunion 5 File will no longer import people if they are in the Trash (people with no family).
  • File -> Delete/Move Fields: A note field can now be moved to a fact field. Only the first line of the notes or 255 characters will be moved, whichever comes first.
  • Family card printouts (File -> Print) now prints the correct shape for people of unknown sex.
  • Options -> Web Cover Page: The Use Separate Page for Surnames button is now checked by default.
  • Options -> Reports -> Endnotes -> Batch did not work properly. Person sheets and family group sheets would force sources to a separate page whether or not a batch of reports was being created.
  • Options -> Speed Names: On/off switch now works properly.
  • Family group sheet, "Other Spouses" will no longer have the person ID number appended to each name unless that option is chosen in the Append to Names setting.
  • Family group sheet: underlining of sources has been corrected.
  • Family group sheet: added 1 space before the word "Continued"
  • Family history report: When "Put Place on Separate Line" was checked, the place was the same as the date.
  • Family history report: When "Include Age" was checked the age would show for events that had no date.
  • Descendant report: Ages were not being included.
  • Descendant report, HTML only: Added the Previous/Next links to the bottom of each page. Dropped the number of people per page from 500 to 100.
  • Register report did not stop at the specified number of generations.
  • Register and Ahnentafel report: When the "Verb Spouse Date Place" format was used for marriage, and the spouse had any data appended, the date would be text other than the correct date.
  • Register and Ahnentafel report: Use semi-colon when including age at the end of a sentence.
  • Ahnentafel report: Marked People Only now works properly.
  • Ages in charts: would only consider the years and not the days and months giving a "rounding up" error for some people.
  • Find -> Anything: A search for "Flag -> No" gave the same result as "Flag -> Yes." I.e., you couldn't search for people who had a specific Flag unchecked.
  • List -> Places: Duplicate entries in place lists are now removed. For example, if a person was born and died in the same place, and the place list was created for birth and death places, his name would appear twice. Now it only appears once.
  • Edit -> Children: Clicking Remove Link for more than one child would only remove the parents link for the first child.
  • Person sheet, family group sheet, Print/Print Preview: Adjusted the vertical placement of source citation numbers for spouses and Children.
  • Define -> Family Fields -> Marriage: Narrative menu would appear incorrectly by clicking on and off of Marriage or Common Law in the list.
  • Define -> Person/Family Fields -> Events and Marriage: Narrative menu would act incorrectly if you clicked and dragged off.
  • Smart Quotes: After a return character, a closing quote was used prior to the next word.

SuperChart 5.01

  • Fixed a problem with deleting return characters in box and caption windows. This problem could cause system errors and was particularly acute when using Ram Doubler.
  • File -> Open: Selecting an invalid chart file that was a TEXT file would delete the TEXT file.
  • Big charts: Charts larger than 455 inches may incorrectly report that a box move will overlap.
  • Big charts: Clicking on the canvas of a chart larger than 455 inches may drag a phantom box.
  • SuperChart wasn't remembering line settings for the Connect tab in the Tree -> Lines window. The connect lines were always reverting to the default for each new chart.
